S. Devarajan (Dev) founded Transmation Consulting with a mission to provide Multinational companies a single window platform to establish themselves in India. To help, develop and implement services and strategies in India; to optimize operational efficiency and fuel expansion & growth.

Dev was the Managing Director of Cisco Systems in Bangalore, India till June '07; An industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in the IT sector, Dev managed Cisco's largest R&D Centre established outside USA. His responsibility included building a successful offshore development program across Cisco, facilitating the setting up of operationally efficient, cost effective development centers that are tightly integrated with the company's R&D labs. During his 6 year stint at Cisco, Dev led the India Strategy to build the organization from scratch to the 2500 employees in Cisco India. Cisco in India has contributed to nearly 200 patents for Cisco.

He partnered with the leading IT Services companies in India, the likes of Infosys, Wipro, HCL and TCS, and created a 6000 strong organization for Cisco. Some of the Best Practices that he and his team evolved with over 10 years of Off Shoring in India for Cisco has been acknowledged by the Forrester Research Group at the HCL Global Customer meet in 2006.

Prior to joining Cisco, Dev was the Managing Director of Tata Elxsi. He was one of the youngest Directors in the Tata Board. His responsibilities there included marketing, research and engineering development for the company's global need. He had the unique opportunity of turning around the company from a loss making organization to a profit and dividend paying entity. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in making it one of the successful IT companies of the Tata group.

Dev was also instrumental in setting up collaboration with Silicon Graphics Inc (SGI), a leading manufacturer of high end Graphic Workstations in the mid 90s, and help in the production of these workstations in India.

Dev graduated in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1978, and started his career with HCL in Delhi. Later he worked all over India in several capacities. Prior to joining Tata Elxsi he worked in OMC computers. There he was involved in managing diverse areas of operations in India and several countries abroad.

Well known in the Indian IT industry, Dev is the past President of the Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT). He was also Executive Council Member of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Southern India.

A member of the IT Hardware task force set up by the Chief Minister of Karnataka and Member of the IT Vision Task Force for the Govt of Karnataka, Dev was recently recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by his Alma Mater, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

An avid photographer, Dev's other passions are music and travel.
